I work by appointment only. My full day session costs $2000 and lasts about 6 hours. I usually do a medium sized tattoo (roughly the inside of the forearm) in one session. If the tattoo is to be small and does not require a full-day session, the work pays $400 per hour. You can only pay for your session in cash or via Zelle or Venmo. Credit cards are not accepted.
A $500 deposit is required to book a day for the session. You can make a deposit in cash or via Zelle or Venmo. Credit cards are not accepted. The deposit is non-refundable. You can only reschedule once without losing your deposit if you give at least a week’s notice. If an unforeseen situation occurs on the day of the appointment and you are unable to attend, the session can be rescheduled once with no deposit loss. The deposit is deducted from the cost of the tattoo. If the tattoo involves more than one session, the deposit will be deducted from the last session.
If your tattoo needs a touch-up you can get it for free within a month of your session. Otherwise, the price of a touch-up will be equal to the price of one hour of my work, which is $400. If the touch-up is needed due to your fault (failure to follow my care recommendations, mechanical damage, etc.) it will also be done for $400. If you’re from afar, the touch-up can be done at your next session for free.
Remember that the final quality of the tattoo half depends on the quality of care for it.
You can find out the number of sessions needed for your tattoo by filling out the application form below and getting an email response from me. If you’re not planning a tattoo in the near future and just want to know the cost for now, write that in the field with the desired session date. Here are some rough numbers you should know:
I create a customized design for each customer. For design I use real good quality photos or digital artwork and I don’t draw anything from scratch by hand. I do all of my design work in Procreate and Photoshop. For tattoos of your relatives or pets, I need high resolution photos with good lighting so I can work out all the details in the tattoo. Some pictures that are sent to me for design can be replaced by me with more suitable for tattoo in a particular case. I do this based on my years of experience in tattooing. All changes are agreed upon with you. Be sure to send a picture of the place you want the tattoo on. Take a picture in good light and ask for help if you can’t take the picture yourself.
To get exactly the design you want, you need to describe your idea in as much detail as possible and attach sample pictures so I understand exactly what you want. As an example for your idea you can use real photos (people, flowers, animals, etc.) or send a picture of someone else’s tattoo explaining what you like about it. I don’t copy other people’s work, I just take that as a basis and create my own design.
Only untanned skin is required! Be sure to protect the place of the future tattoo from the sun. Use a sunscreen of at least 50 SPF and renew it every 2 hours if you are in the sun. It is difficult to work on tanned skin, the ink on it will not look as bright as on light skin.
A month before the session, start moisturizing the place for the future tattoo with a nourishing cream even if you have normal skin and especially if it is dry. It’s hard to work on dry skin because it gets traumatized faster. This means that I have to work slower to avoid damaging it even more, which may require an extra session.
Please do not shave the tattoo area at home by yourself! You may accidentally injure yourself and I will not be able to work on the spot. I’ll shave your skin myself before I start work. You can go for a wax or sugar hair removal treatment 2-3 days before the session if you want. The skin after this treatment is very pleasant to work with.
Buy a healing cream and a hypoallergenic band-aid in advance to cover the tattoo with a pad (I’ll give it to you after your session).
Do not drink alcohol 1-2 days before the session because it can also negatively affect both the process of work and healing. Alcohol in the blood can provoke excessive bleeding. It would also be nice to have a day off the day after the session to rest but it’s not necessary.
If you have health problems, consult your doctor so that the tattoo does not harm you because it is a big stress for the body. If you are currently undergoing treatment and taking medications (e.g. antibiotics), you should postpone your session until you are fully recovered because this can negatively affect the healing of the tattoo.
I don’t use any anesthetic creams during the process. If you are afraid of pain, you can take tablets (e.g. Ibuprofen) with you. But you don’t have to worry so much because many customers say that my sessions are quite easy to tolerate.
If someone tells you that you can remove a tattoo with a laser completely, you’re being lied to. Unfortunately, that’s not possible. Or rather possible in one case out of a hundred when your tattoo is already very light and small. It is possible to lighten the tattoo as much as possible by visiting several procedures, but it will still be visible. Therefore, a cover-up is probably the fastest and least expensive way to get rid of an unwanted tattoo. So many factors go into how, with what, how fast a cover-up can be done, and whether it’s even possible. Not all artists can do this because they do not understand how ink behaves under the skin, how to correctly choose a picture that can cover an unwanted tattoo, and what ink palette should be used for this purpose. I have extensive and highly successful experience in cover-up work, and I have received numerous awards in this category from various tattoo conventions. And here I’ve tried to gather everything you need.
Cover-ups always take more time than tattoos on clean skin. This is because I need to be more careful and slow in putting ink over the old tattoo so that over time it won’t be visible through the new tattoo. You should also be prepared for the fact that you may need to work on the tattoo for a few more hours in the future. In some cases, laser removal may be necessary. If you’ve gotten laser removal, you won’t see results until two months after the procedure at the earliest. Having laser removal done more often than once every two months doesn’t make any sense. Our lymphatic system removes the laser-destroyed pigment from the body gradually. A new tattoo will always have to be bigger than the old one in size! Keep in mind that it is impossible to cover dark ink with lighter shades, over time the old ink will show through! The new tattoo must be a tone darker than the old one. Good ideas for cover-ups are the cosmic theme and skulls. All of this mostly applies to medium to large sized tattoos. If you have a small tattoo, covering it up shouldn’t be too much trouble.
In some cases, it is possible not to make a cover-up, but simply fix a poor quality tattoo by keeping it. This is not possible in all cases, but sometimes it is exactly what is needed. For example, I’ve done this a few times with my old work when I didn’t know how to do it like I do now.
Also be prepared for the possibility that I may refuse the service. I will not tattoo a customer if I know that it will look bad and that it is impossible to make something good out of it. I value my reputation and unfortunately I am not a wizard (although my clients say I am).
Before you book a session make sure you’ve read ALL the previous points. This will avoid surprises in the future. Fill out the form below, be sure to attach pictures for the design and a picture of the location of the future tattoo. If you’re interested in a cover-up, attach pictures of your tattoo so I understand if it can be covered or fixed. Please take pictures in daylight or in good lighting.
Bookings are usually open 1-2 months in advance. If you are interested in a later date please write that on the form. The session starts at 11am and ends at 6-8pm so plan to spend all day in the studio. The session can be done both weekdays and weekends.
If you live far from the studio and want a tattoo that will take more than one session, we can do two-day sessions for your convenience. I don’t recommend getting tattooed for 3 days or more because it can have a bad effect on healing. The tattoo is a stress on the body so you may feel ill after such a big strain on the immune system. The minimum acceptable break between appointments is 2-3 weeks. During this time the skin has time to regenerate and I can continue tattooing without fear of traumatizing it.
Expect a reply within 3 days to email and if you haven’t received it please be sure to contact me. Sometimes there may be technical problems on the website and your request is lost. Also, don’t forget to check spam, sometimes an email can go there.
I work in Southern California. I occasionally visit other states, stay tuned to my instagram for updates. The price for a session in other states or at a tattoo convention is $2500.
